Unusually, my work for MAIN is a combination of fundraising and marketing. I think the two blend very well. Using my good understanding of MAIN’s mission and what they do, I write compelling copy that I then use for both their grant funding applications and their appeals to the general public. We’ve had some great success, raising over £90,000 so far for their Big Build appeal, reaching funders, companies and the lovely local people on Teeside. My role is to keep an eye on MAIN’s marketing strategy for their big projects, as well as consulting and coaching the in-house team on their social media, PR, etc. It’s a fab charity to work with – the work MAIN does is so important, and it’s an absolutely pleasure making sure more people hear about it.
