Sense Ability Matters
Sense Ability Matters supports adults in South Tyneside and Gateshead community who have a sensory impairment, are disabled, or live with a long-term health condition.
Having worked with the charity when it was known as Vision & Hearing Support through the launch of Connected Caring, we were invited back to help them as they underwent an ambitious expansion. The organisation now not only supporting those with a sensory impairment, but also anyone disabled in the area, would require a rebrand, and an big campaign to launch the new brand.
Branding a service which supports people who are vision impaired was a new challenge. The entire team were involved in the brand workshop, including several staff members who are Blind, Deaf, vision or hearing impaired themselves. Everyone’s participation hugely benefitted the process, as they generously shared their perspectives on how people ‘like them’ would receive the new brand.
The result was the creation of Sense Ability Matters, or SAM, for short. To launch SAM, we managed the website update, and worked across PR, social media, printed materials, email marketing and events.
We continue to support SAM with their marketing and communications, helping maintain a consistent presence on social media, regularly communicating with key partners and stakeholders, sharing important announcements in the press and monitoring marketing performance. We look forward to helping SAM as they roll out plans to strengthen their membership offering, and as they attract more volunteers, Trustees and donors to the charity.
